Trevor Banks is a Chartered Member of Engineering New Zealand (CMEngNZ, CPEng.,) and a Member of the New Zealand Geotechnical Society (NZGS). He has over 30 years’ experience in site investigations and geotechnical design in New Zealand, Australia and UK.
Experienced in all aspects of geotechnical engineering, he has a particular focus on residential and light commercial projects, and subdivisions, including foundation design, land stability assessments and earthworks. His duties have also included landslip assessments to assist with EQC claims for natural disaster (landslip); walkover geotechnical appraisals to assist with sales or purchases of land; and assessments of geotechnical hazards or constraints at sites to assist with assessing the development potential of land.
Trevor is also well experienced in on-site wastewater (effluent) disposal design (including Auckland Council Discharge Consent applications). The geotechnical aspects of a site, and how they relate to identified wastewater disposal areas, is an important aspect of the on-site wastewater disposal design, and increasingly required by Territorial Authorities to be addressed. With Trevor’s geotechnical background a more integrated approach to the wastewater design is therefore provided.
Trevor has carried out numerous geotechnical investigations, design and reporting throughout the entire greater Auckland region, and is well familiar with the variable geology and soils. In particular, he has been involved with numerous sites throughout the West Auckland area, and in more recent years Waiheke Island.
